Flowers are considered to be one of nature's beautiful creations due to their aesthetic characteristics and lovely scent.  However, there are many exceptions, and one of the type of flowers that belong under this category are the African Starfish Flowers.   Instead emitting a lovely scent, they send the scent of rotting flesh, strong enough to make some vomit.  Common names associated with the African Starfish Flower include the Carrion Flower, Carrion Plant,  and Asblom. The species of  the African Starfish Flower are members of the genus Stapelia and belong to the plant family Asclepiadacse or otherwise known as The Milkweed Family.
